We are pleased to present you with this reference guide created to assist you in making an informed decision regarding your Dining Plan options at GV. Our plans offer the utmost in flexibility and value. We offer five different plans designed to meet the needs of GV’s students from Resident Freshmen to Upper-class Students and Commuters.

Plan Options

2011 - 2012 ACADEMIC YEAR

Block 155 Plan - Available to all students

This plan offers 155 meals per semester to be used in "all you care to eat dining" at Knudsen and as a meal exchange at Stacks Deli and Jensen. The plan includes 340 Flex points each semester that may be used in all dining locations, including the coffee shop @ The Library. Points may be used as cash. Meals and points must be consumed during the semester and is an option for all residents.

Block 125 Plan - Available to all students

This plan offers 125 meals per semester to be used in "all you care to eat dining" at Knudsen and as a meal exchange at Stacks Deli and Jensen. The plan includes 135 Flex points each semester that may be used in all dining locations, including the coffee shop @ The Library. Points may be used as cash. Meals and points must be consumed during the semester and is an option for all residents.

 

Block 100 Plan - Available to second year students living in Hull Apartments, third year and up students living in Hull Apartments or L Apartments

This plan offers 100 meals per semester to be used in "all you care to eat dining" at Knudsen and as a meal exchange at Stacks Deli and Jensen. The plan includes 125 Flex points each semester that may be used in all dining locations, including the coffee shop @ The Library. Points may be used as cash. Meals and points must be consumed during the semester and is an option for all residents.

Block 45 Plan - Available to third year and up students living in L Apartments or in Hull Apartments

This plan offers 45 meals per semester to be used in "all you care to eat dining" at Knudsen and as a meal exchange at Stacks Deli and Jensen. The plan includes 150 Flex points each semester that may be used in all dining locations, including the coffee shop @ The Library. Points may be used as cash. Meals and points must be consumed during the semester and is an option for apartment dwellers only.

Try considering your daily routine… Do you eat three meals a day? Will your class schedule, studying, extracurricular activities and social events interfere with dining? Will you miss dinner due to employment or evening classes? Anticipating the answers to these and similar questions will help you to select a meal plan that best fits your lifestyle. Important Info

Lost or stolen Meal Cards
Lost or stolen Meal Cards can be replaced. Should this happen to you please stop by the Carreer Center. After you receive a new campus I.D. card bring that by the Campus Dining office to reinstate your meal plan.

Seconds Policy
Pick as much or as little as you would like to eat or drink at every meal in the Knudsen Dining Hall.

Guests
Have a guest over for dinner! You are welcome to bring a friend or family member for any meal. Guest meal prices are as follows:
Breakfast $4.10 |  Lunch $6.65 | Dinner $7.55.

Dietary Needs
Do you have particular dietary needs? No problem! Our Campus Dining Services Program can accommodate your special dietary requirements. For more information, please contact Grand View Dining at:  515-263-2838

Meal Cards
Selection of a Campus Dining Services Meal Plan entitles you to a Meal Card, which allows you purchasing power equivalent to the plan you have selected. Here is how it works: in order to use your meal plan at the any of our dining services location, you must have your meal card (Campus I.D. card) available with you. Entry into the Main Dining Room or purchases at the other locations using points will not be permitted without your meal card. Meal cards are not transferable.

Dining Policies and Procedures

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your tray and disposables from your table when you have finished dining.
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that Meal Cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.
  • Please contact the Campus Dining office at 515-263-6147, if you have any allergies to specific types of food.
